FT at Thomas College, ME

Thomas College seeks applicants for a full-time Assistant Professor of Science to support the undergraduate programs effective in the fall of 2015.

The preferred candidates for this position will be generalists prepared to offer courses in both Physical and Life Sciences to support the general education program at the College, as well as needs in majors such as Criminal Justice, Psychology, Sport Management, and Education. An appropriate terminal degree and a record of successful teaching and advising is desired.
Depending on the individuals expertise, the successful candidate will offer courses in a range of subject areas that may include some combination of the following: Chemistry, Physics, Earth Science/Ecology, Technology & Engineering, Astronomy, Biology, Physical Anthropology/Evolutionary Biology, Biotechnology, or Computer Science. Opportunities exist to develop and offer courses to support programs in teacher certification, in psychology, criminal justice, or sport management. The College encourages the development of new and engaging approaches toward the integration of science into the curriculum.
Additional responsibilities include faculty committee activity, offering occasional courses in an online or blended environment, and engaging in service/outreach on behalf of the School of Arts and Sciences or the College.
