The College of Sciences and Technology invites applications for a tenure-track Physics position at the Assistant Professor level. Teaches undergraduate courses full-time (12 credit hours per semester), in physics and physical sciences including algebra-based introductory mechanics, heat and waves and algebra based introductory electro magnetism, optics and modern physics; designs a lecture to actively engage students; promotes and strengthens physical sciences program infrastructure and mentors students in career paths. Advises students in matters related to academics; participates in SSU recruitment and retention initiatives; and assists students in achieving completion of objectives. Establishes and develops a research program with publishable results. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience; excellent benefits.
Earned Ph.D. in physics or closely related discipline is required. A minimum of two years teaching experience from an accredited institution is preferred. Background and/or credit check may be required.
