Saint Paul College seeks energetic and dedicated individuals to apply for one unlimited, full-time (1.0) Physics faculty position. Examples of Duties:
Provide classroom instruction, evaluate and advise students;
Develop and/or revise curriculum;
Participate in department meetings, program advisory committee meetings, and college-wide events;
Maintain technical knowledge in the field through active participation in professional development organizations and events;
Promote diversity, inclusion and cultural competency;
Perform other duties as assigned by the Academic Dean or Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
Education Requirement
Master's degree with a major in physics or a Master's degree with a minimum of 16 graduate semester credits (24 graduate quarter credits) in physics
Teaching and Learning Competency Requirement

philosophy of community and technical college education (credit or non-credit course)**
Faculty shall have a degree in education or three years of successful full-time (or equivalent) teaching experience prior to being hired, or shall be required to complete coursework in the above content areas (or their equivalent) prior to being granted unlimited status.
* These courses shall be waived for individuals who at the time of hire have: a degree in education, or have documented evidence of successful completion of equivalent coursework in the specified teaching and learning content areas, or have three years of successful, full-time (or equivalent) secondary, postsecondary, industry, or trade apprenticeship teaching experience in the field for which they are being hired. (Procedure 3.32.1 College Faculty Credentialing, Part 5, Subpart B.2)
** This course shall be waived for individuals who, at the time of hire, have documented evidence of successful completion of equivalent coursework. (Procedure 3.32.1 College Faculty Credentialing, Part 5, Subpart B.3)
Preferred Qualifications
Master's or Ph.D. degree in Physics;
Two years of undergraduate college teaching experience in Physics subjects;
Understanding of Community College mission;
Two-year college teaching experience in an urban two-year college;
Demonstrated commitment to institutional development;
Academic assessment experience;
Excellent Communication Skills;
Ability to work with faculty and staff as a team member;
Ability to work with a diverse student body with a broad range of interests and abilities;
Experience with web-enhanced and on-line course teaching with the D2L Platform.

Salary and benefits will be based on the collective bargaining agreement between Minnesota State College Faculty (MSCF) and the State of Minnesota. Salary will be commensurate with education and experience. Salary and benefits will be provided according to the negotiated labor agreement.
