Tenure Track Assistant Professor in Physics

The Department of Physics, Astronomy, and Geosciences at Towson University seeks to fill a tenure - track position at the Assistant Professor level. The Physics program consists of 11 full time faculty members and offers tracks in applied physics, general physics, astrophysics, and secondary education. A Professional Science Masters program in Applied Physics will begin in Fall 2010. The department also has a dual degree program established with the engineering departments at the University of Maryland, College Park.

Requirements
Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Physics at the time of employment (August 2011). Applicants are expected to possess a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, show potential for a productive research/scholarly program, and pursue external funding to support research programs involving undergraduate and graduate students.
