The Faculty, Physical Sciences position is a 10-month, tenure track,
faculty position with responsibility for teaching 15 credits each
semester. Primary responsibility will be lecture and corresponding
laboratory courses in the Physical Sciences, including but not limited
to Physical Science, Earth and Space Science, General Physics,
Chemistry, Astronomy, Geology and/or Environmental Sciences.

Education and Experience:
Education and experience - This position requires a
minimum of a Master's degree in either Physics/Physical Science or
related field and must have Physical Science teaching credentials.
Documented excellence in college level teaching required. A PhD in
Physics or another Physical Science is a plus. Experience with grant
writing is very desirable.
Additional requirements - Availability for both daytime and evening
classes is required. The position requires successful teaching
experience at the college level and the ability to provide leadership
and coordination for the science courses of the AAT degree in the
elementary education program, curriculum development for Physical
Science, and Student Learning Outcomes Assessment for the Physical
Science courses. Experience with online course delivery is a plus.
Skills and abilities - Ability to use sophisticated laboratory equipment
including but not limited to: HPLC, IF-Spectroscopy, gas
Chromatography, and Lab-quest Vernier probe-ware. In addition, strong
organizational, advising, and counseling skills are necessary. A
demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with students, faculty,
staff, and administration is required.
