Tenure-Track Assistant Professor Position
The College of Sciences seeks to hire a tenure-track Assistant Professor with expertise in education research in the fields of biology, biochemistry, chemistry, geosciences, mathematics, statistics, or physics beginning Fall 2021. Candidates are expected to develop a robust research program that includes external funding and scholarly productivity, teach departmental courses, and mentor departmental undergraduate and graduate (masters and doctoral) students. Additionally, faculty will have opportunities to supervise Ph.D. students in the Joint Doctoral Program in Mathematics and Science Education (MSED, http://www.sci.sdsu.edu/CRMSE/
Candidates must have a Ph.D. in a relevant field, and postdoctoral experience is preferred. A strong record of scholarship is required. The candidate will be expected to establish and grow an externally funded research program resulting in peer-reviewed publications with SDSU undergraduate and graduate students. Disciplinary expertise for teaching majors courses at the undergraduate level is required. Preference will be given to candidates with teaching experience and a demonstrated commitment to the academic success and mentoring of a diverse student population.
