The Department of Physics and Astronomy at Earlham College invites applications for a tenure track position beginning in August of 2009. The successful applicant will be expected to teach the full range of undergraduate courses and initiate a program of physics research involving undergraduates. The ability to teach both introductory electronics and an advanced laboratory course would be desirable.
A Ph.D. in physics is preferred although ABD candidates would be considered. Candidates who are ABD and wanting time to finish writing a dissertation may be able to arrange a less-than full-time teaching load during the first year, leaving time to work on finishing the dissertation.
