TT at U Houston - Clear Lake

University of Houston-Clear Lake invites applications and nominations for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Science Education starting fall 2009. Candidates must have an earned doctorate in Science Education, although exceptional ABD candidates will receive consideration. A demonstrated record of research, scholarly publications, and grant writing or a clear potential for success in these areas is required. Also required are excellent English oral communication skills and a minimum of three years of U.S. public school teaching experience, with preference for elementary-level experience. Preference will be given to persons who also have experience in teaching field-based courses. Major responsibilities include: 1.) teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in K-6 Science Education; 2.) scholarly activities emphasizing research and publication; 3.) supervising graduate and undergraduate internships; 4.) advising master's projects and theses, and 5.) service to the university and to professional and local communities.
