TT at St. Ambrose University

The Physics Department of St. Ambrose University seeks an energetic faculty member for a full-time, tenure-track position at the assistant professor level beginning August 2011. Qualified applicants will have a Doctoral degree in Physics or a closely related field (ABDs may be considered).

The successful applicant will have an exceptional commitment to teaching and advising undergraduate students, with excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills. The primary responsibility of the position is to develop and teach advanced physics, engineering and introductory courses, including laboratories. Subject areas include college physics, mechanics, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics and electronics. Responsibilities for advanced courses will depend on the applicant's background. Evening courses will occasionally be required. Additional responsibilities of the position include advising undergraduate students, continued professional development and university service.
