TT and Non-TT at U. of Nebraska-Lincoln

University of Nebraska-Lincoln will be recruiting two positions this semester in the area of science education. The general job description focuses on recruiting someone who can help bring the expertise of "scientific teaching" into our undergraduate biology curriculum. One position will be at a tenure level in one of our science departments (Biology, Chem, geosciences or Physics). The other will be a Professor of Practice in Biology (see proposed job ad below).

Proposed Job Ad:
Assistant Professor of Practice in Biological Sciences at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. This is a renewable non-tenure-track position with opportunity for promotion. The applicant will be expected to teach introductory level biology courses and manage a multi-sectional laboratory program, including teaching assistant instruction and oversight of permanent staff. Disciplinary expertise in Organismic Biology and Diversity, Cell Biology and/or Physiology is desirable. Experience and/or enthusiasm for implementing use of interactive scientific teaching practices into the biology curriculum is expected. Opportunity for creative contributions in life sciences education research will be encouraged. Minimum qualifications include a PhD in Biology.
