Position: The Department of Teaching and Learning in the College of Education at Washington State
University Pullman campus seeks applicants with experience and interest in science education. The candidate will have an earned doctorate in science education or a science discipline with an emphasis in science education and a demonstrated commitment to scholarly activity. The College of Education seeks applicants with a demonstrated knowledge and ability to work effectively with individuals and groups with a variety of identities, cultures, backgrounds and ideologies in a global environment.

Duties and Responsibilities: Conduct scholarly research in science education; pursue external funding
to support research agenda; advise/mentor undergraduate and graduate students; develop and maintain
partnerships in STEM education; teach undergraduate and/or graduate science education courses; and engage in service activities at a variety of levels.

Required Qualifications: Earned doctorate in science education or a science discipline with an emphasis in science education before date of hire; demonstrated scholarly record or potential to develop one; willingness to write grant proposals and procure and manage external funds; demonstrated ability with K-12 STEM education; ability to communicate effectively with students and colleagues.

Desired Qualifications: Demonstrated ability and expertise in one or more of the following areas: An
academic background in a scientific discipline; science curriculum and instruction (K-12); teaching in science-related undergraduate, graduate, and/or professional programs; collaborative relationships with K-12 schools, university peers, or community agencies; advising and/or mentoring undergraduate and graduate students; working with diverse/underserved populations, distance education, and/ or technology and instruction. A focus on Environmental Education is a plus, as is demonstrated ability with elementary education.
