The School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics

The Science/Mathematics Education Department at the University of Texas at Dallas seeks a faculty member with a strong science background and a strong interest in the improvement of STEM education in K-12 schools and in lower division courses at UTD. Faculty are expected to contribute energetically to departmental goals, to the Master of Arts in Teaching/Science Education -- which serves primarily in-service K-12 teachers, to UTeach-Dallas -- which prepares STEM majors and post-baccalaureates as secondary science and mathematics teachers, and to the delivery and improvement of UTD foundation courses in chemistry. UTD is a research university, and successful candidates are expected to teach well (including the development and testing of new approaches and materials) and to develop and carry out research programs leading to publications in nationally recognized journals. PhD in Chemistry (or closely related fields) or PhD. in Science Education with an equivalent of an MS in Chemistry required. Rank is open
