The Department of Physics and Astronomy at Swarthmore College invites
applications for a leave replacement position in any specialty of
theoretical physics at the Assistant Professor level beginning with the
Fall semester of 2013. The position is renewable for up to three years.
The teaching load over two semesters is 3 courses and 3 lab sections (9
weekly contact hours per semester). We are particularly seeking
candidates interested in and capable of teaching theoretical topics at
all levels of the undergraduate curriculum including General Relativity
and Particle/Field Theory. Candidates must have a strong interest in
teaching at a highly selective, undergraduate liberal arts college.
Swarthmore is ranked among the top five liberal arts colleges in the

description of theoretical research interests and activity that could
involve Swarthmore undergraduates. Three letters of reference must be
