We seek candidates who understand and value a Christian liberal arts approach to higher education and who are willing to invest themselves in the lives of students. Candidates must provide evidence of exemplary teaching. Candidates must possess a deep understanding of the interconnection between faith and science and must manifest a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and mentorship. Candidates must be committed to undergraduate research. A doctoral degree in an appropriate area-preferably quantum mechanics, thermodynamics, optics, electrodynamics or astronomy -is required. Responsibilities include curriculum development, assessment of learning outcomes, student advising, service to the university and department, research, and other academic or administrative responsibilities as assigned. Candidates who, in addition to their physics expertise, also possess a strong chemical background are encouraged to apply, as there is a strong overlap between the two majors. Candidates with interest in pedagogy in the online environment, safety and environmental education and management, laboratory and stockroom management, or financial planning and management, are also encouraged to apply.
