STEM Program Director, Passaic County CC, NJ

He or she will lead our course revision efforts, oversee the operation of the STEM Center and Energy Sustainability Lab, design professional development experiences for faculty, and coordinate activities with high school, university and industry partners. This a full-time, grant funded, administrative position. Examples of Duties: Manage the day-to-day implementation of the project activity to ensure accomplishment of project objectives. Lead and coordinate the work of interdisciplinary teams of faculty involved in STEM course and program improvement. Provide direct supervision to the STEM Center Coordinator and general supervision to the administrative assistant. Advise the Project Coordinator of progress and issues; submit regular reports. Track activity budget to ensure the appropriate use of funds and make recommendations to the Project Coordinator for approval. Participate in personnel decisions, including hiring. Maintain records and collect data on project activities for use in CCRAA-HSI reports and evaluation activities. Conduct professional development for faculty and staff to promote best practices in teaching and learning technologies, including planning summer training institutes for high school and college faculty. Provide leadership in curricular mapping activities involving high school, community college, and university faculty. Participate on Project Task Force headed by the Project Coordinator. Participate in project evaluation. Qualifications: A Master's degree in Education or STEM-related field is required. At least seven years of work experience in an educational setting, including curricular and instructional design, is required. Strong leadership, organizational, and administrative skills are required. Supplemental Information: This is a full-time, grant funded, administrative position.
