Qualifications:
Doctoral degree in Physics or related field is required. The ideal candidate will have experience in Physics Education Research. Candidates should be familiar with a variety of teaching techniques and emerging technologies for instruction. Applicants who have an interest in introductory physics course reform are particularly encouraged to apply. Applicants should have awareness of and sensitivity to the educational goals of a multicultural population as might have been gained in cross-cultural study, training, teaching, and other comparable experience.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will teach courses at the BS/BA and MS levels, and provide advising to students. S/he will engage in physics education research. S/he will also develop an externally funded research program that provides support and mentorship of undergraduate and graduate students. The successful candidate will participate in shared governance, typically though committee service. Candidate must address the needs of a student population of great diversity – in age, cultural background, ethnicity, primary language, and academic preparation – through course materials, teaching strategies, and advisement.
Salary Range: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Starting Date: August 18, 2015
