Supervision Received: Reports to the Chair of the Science and Mathematics Department and for review of assessment results to the Vice President of Academic Affairs
Supervision exercised: Supervises student personnel in areas of responsibility

General responsibilities:
 The instruction of university-level physics courses
 Teaching and advising in a four-year college setting
 Participation in the College governance system

Qualifications and requirements:
 Demonstrated potential to fulfill evaluation criteria of teaching an advising at the university level
 Candidates with Masters’ degrees who are working towards a doctorate will be considered for
appointment at the rank of Instructor
 Tenure track appointment at the Assistant Professor level requires an earned doctorate in physics or a related field
 Tenure track appointment at higher levels requires a doctorate and significant teaching experience at the post-secondary level
 Excellent written and oral communication skills
 Excellent computer skills

Preferred Qualifications and requirements:
 Ideal candidate will have an earned doctorate in Physics or a closely related field
 Experience teaching Physics I (Mechanics) and/or Physics II (Electricity and Magnetism or Circuits) and/or a course in Thermodynamics
 Experience with computer-based data acquisition physics laboratory equipment as applied to a teaching environment
 Ability to teach courses in introductory chemistry, mathematics and/or engineering
 Ability to teach Instruction to Radiological Materials’
 Experience with assessment
 Understanding of and dedication to the Academy’s unique mission

Desirable Assets:
 Tutoring experience
 Varsity athletic coaching experience at the college level

Salary: Commensurate with experience and subject to the MSCA collective bargaining agreement plan. The Academy is not sponsoring immigration visas at this time.
