Position Purpose
Non-tenure track, instructor, to teach lower lower-division physics and astronomy, and possibly some upper-division physics courses. Opportunities exist for involving students in research. Special consideration will be given to candidates who have an interest in helping with the expansion of the Department’s Bachelor of Science program in Physics Education.

Required Qualifications: The successful candidate should possess the credentials, experience and documented achievements appropriate for appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor, including:
1. M.S./Ph.D in physics or astronomy by the appointment date.
2. Demonstrated effective communication skills in both written and oral form.
3. Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with a diverse student population.
4. Experience with computers in teaching and research settings.
5. Experience in organizing classroom activities and supervising laboratories

Preferred Qualifications:
1. Experience teaching physics and astronomy at the post-secondary level highly preferred; as well as experience with undergraduate research.
