TT or T at Ohio State University

The Ohio State University announces the opening of an Assistant or Associate Professor position in Science Education.

The faculty of the school of Teaching and Learning seek a colleague to join us in building research capacity in science education. Collectively, we seek better understanding and improvement of science learning and teaching at all levels of formal and informal education. Preference is given to candidates whose research programs investigate: discipline-focused learning processes; problem solving; cognition and the science of learning; assessment methodologies; learning progressions; technology integration; or best practices in science instruction. Interdisciplinary appointments are possible.

We seek a science education faculty member who will collaborate with colleagues to expand world class research and scholarship agendas; bring extramural support for research and scholarly activities; provide further leadership in expanding cross-program, cross-college, cross-campus and cross-institution research initiatives, including collaboration with Pre-K-12 schools; attract and nurture outstanding students from around the world; and support efforts to promote science literacy through public engagement.

Requirements include an earned doctorate in a relevant area with a strong background in a science discipline, evidence of high productivity or potential for high productivity in scholarship and grantsmanship, and successful university teaching. Pre-K-12 teaching experience is preferred.

Applications will be accepted until the position is filled. Queries should be directed to Prof. Ross Nehm (nehm.1@osu.edu / 614-688-5373).
