TT at University of South Carolina Lancaster

The University of South Carolina Lancaster, a regional campus of the University of South Carolina located approximately thirty-five (35) miles south of Charlotte, NC seeks candidates for a tenure-track Assistant Professorship in Astronomy beginning August 16, 2013.  Applicants should hold the Ph.D. or other terminal degree in Astronomy or a related field, including credentials necessary for departmental approval to teach introductory and advanced Astronomy courses and selected courses in Physics.  Preference will be given to candidates with experience teaching at the university level. The position will normally require the teaching of three lectures and two labs per semester or its equivalent, including evening and distance education classes as needed, as well as a commitment to scholarship and university/community service.
