FT Math/Physics, Indiana Wesleyan University

Founded in 1920, Indiana Wesleyan University (IWU) is an evangelical Christian comprehensive university of The Wesleyan Church. IWU is the largest school in the Council for Christian Colleges & Universities (CCCU) with over 3,200 traditional students on the main Marion, Indiana campus and another 12,200 adult learners at regional sites throughout Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio, and online.

Description of Position:
Indiana Wesleyan is seeking an individual for a shared appointment in Mathematics and Physics. Rank will be based on the successful applicant’s qualifications. Preference will be given to candidates who have interest and ability in collaborative efforts and who are able to teach a flexible schedule with changing emphasis in either field. We seek a candidate who is also committed to building and sustaining an active program of undergraduate research involving students from both departments. IWU faculty should model Christian servant leadership, and service expectations will be divided between the two departments. As constituents of our vibrant School of the Physical and Applied Sciences of 36 full-time faculty, the Departments of Mathematics and Physics have together six full-time faculty members and share strong commitments to high quality, academically rigorous teaching and undergraduate research.
Qualifications:
Candidates must have an earned doctorate in Mathematics, Physics or a closely related field and an active, growing and evangelical Christian faith. A commitment to teaching excellence within a Christ-centered academic community is essential.
