Posting Text:The Sanford Science Education Center is seeking an exceptional Science Educator to support and expand existing education and outreach efforts associated with the Sanford Underground Research Facility.

The Sanford Science Education Center is a Partnership of the Sanford Underground Research Facility, Black Hills State University, and the Sanford Lab Homestake Visitor Center. Its mission is to develop and facilitate rich, innovative learning experiences that
* deepen understanding of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics,
* engage and connect diverse audiences, and
* inspire and prepare the next generation of scientists, engineers, mathematicians, and educators.

In support of its mission, the Center draws upon and leverages the science and engineering of the Sanford Underground Research Facility, the educational resources of Black Hills State University, the capacity for public engagement of the Sanford Lab Homestake Visitor Center, the human resources and unique facilities of all three institutions, and their setting within the Black Hills.

Educational audiences include K-12 students and teachers, university students, and members of the general public. A detailed job description will be developed based on the goals of the Center and the strengths and interests of the selected candidate. Potential duties include
* Hosting student groups at the Sanford Lab facility
* Providing educational programs within K-12 and university classrooms throughout the region
* Collaborating with K-12 teachers, university educators, scientists, and engineers in developing new programs and refining existing ones
* Producing instructional materials that connect underground science to K-12 and higher education settings

Required Qualifications:
* Doctorate in a science related field is preferred, a Master's degree in a science related field is required
* At least three years of experience teaching science at the K-12 or university level
* Exceptional communication and collaboration skills
* Self-directed, team-oriented, innovative, fun

Desired Qualifications:
* Expertise in teacher professional development, curriculum development, assessment, program evaluation, educational research, distance education, and/or education technology
* Leadership experience

PHYSICS DEPARTMENT, FULL-TIME LECTURER. The Physics Department in the College of Science and Mathematics at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, CA is seeking to hire one or more Full-Time Lecturers for academic year 2016-2017 (with possible extension) to begin September 15, 2016. Primary duties and responsibilities are to teach undergraduate physics (and possibly astronomy) lecture and lab courses.

A Ph.D. in physics or astronomy (or a closely related field with a strong physics background) is required. All requirements for the Ph.D. must be completed before September 15, 2016.  
Preferred Qualifications / Skills
Preference will be given to candidates with evidence of (or potential for) excellence in teaching. Candidates in all stages of their career are encouraged to apply.

APS Bridge Program Project Manager

The American Physical Society (APS), the premier membership association for physicists, seeks a dynamic and personable science professional to fill the position of APS Bridge Program Project Manager based at APS Headquarters in College Park, MD (near DC Metro College Park Station, Green Line).
