The School of Sciences at Barton College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position in Physical Sciences at the Assistant Professor level, to begin August 2016.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will teach 24 credit hours of predominately science lab courses including physics and physical science, with the possibility of instruction during weekends or evenings; the ability to lead math courses will be viewed favorably. The successful candidate will develop a topics course, based on their area of expertise, as part of the General Education core. Ongoing professional scholarship and service, student recruiting and advising, and participation in the School of Sciences and College are expected. Further, the successful candidate must have a commitment to excellence in teaching, with evidence of active student engagement.
Qualifications
Doctorate or ABD in Physics preferred; Masters prepared candidates will be considered
Demonstrated record of teaching success
Previous teaching experience in physics and physical science are highly desired
Strong communication and collaborative skills
Commitment to teaching excellence
