Full-Time Non-Tenure Track Lecturer, DePaul University, Chicago

The Physics department at DePaul University has an opening for a full time non-tenure track professional lecturer in a studio environment.. The position requires a PhD in physics or related field. The initial contract is for 1 year, with the possibility of future multi-year contracts. The primary responsibility of this position is teaching the algebra based introductory physics for the life sciences (IPLS) course. There is also the possibility to develop and teach courses for the general education program, including courses that have a strong emphasis on the nature of science as well as teaching advanced majors courses.   The ideal candidate will have experience using active engagement pedagogies with strong preference given to candidates who have studio physics experience in a scale-up classroom.  Candidates with a strong and genuine interest, but limited experience in applying research-based teaching methods in IPLS courses are also encouraged to apply.
