JOB SUMMARY:
The Department of Physics at Saginaw Valley State University invites applications for a Tenure Track Assistant Professor of Physics.  Duties commence Fall 2020.  We seek an individual showing potential for excellent undergraduate teaching across the physics curriculum and research goals commensurate with a primarily undergraduate institution focused on preparing students for life after a bachelor's degree.  Area of research specialization is open.  Minimum education is a Ph.D. in Physics or closely related field.  To apply, submit a cover letter, CV (including names and contact information of 3 references), statement of teaching philosophy, and statement of research interests describing involvement of undergraduate students online at jobs.svsu.edu.  Letters of support will be requested of applicants selected for a phone interview.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates for this position must have a Ph.D. in Physics or a closely-related field.
ABD candidates also will be considered.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
A strong preference will be shown for candidates who can demonstrate teaching experience in undergraduate lectures, labs and/or recitations and who also indicate interest and/or experience in engaging undergraduate students in research.
