JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The Department of Physics at Worcester Polytechnic Institute invites applications for a non-tenure track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor to begin in the Fall of 2020. A successful candidate is expected to have continued appointments with opportunities for professional development and advancement in rank.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The ideal applicant should have a strong potential for excellence in teaching and will have the opportunity to teach a broad range of introductory and upper-level undergraduate physics courses as well as develop interdisciplinary courses that fit the candidate's expertise and compliment or expand our current programs at WPI. The candidate will also engage in mentoring students in WPI's signature Project Based Learning curriculum, develop outreach activities, engage in the scholarship of teaching and learning, and participate in other activities in the department and throughout the WPI community. Candidates from underrepresented groups and women are especially encouraged to apply. The ideal applicant will have a PhD in Physics or a closely related area with teaching experience related to physics. The department's webpage can be found at https://www.wpi.edu/+physics.
