 https://slc.peopleadmin.com/postings/1521

Job Description: Sarah Lawrence College, a coeducational liberal arts college dedicated to individualized education, is recruiting up to two broadly-trained physicists for part-time guest positions for the 2021/22 academic year, beginning August 2021. We aim to find instructors to teach the two semesters of our algebra-based introductory physics seminar sequence with laboratory, as well as a one-semester intermediate seminar course covering classical and quantum waves (either in the fall or spring). Faculty candidates can apply for one or both of the proposed courses, and compensation will be proportional to the number of credits taught. Sarah Lawrence has plans to be fully in-person for the 2021/22 academic year and on-campus office space and access to the physics laboratory will be made available.

Application materials must include: a cover letter stating the course(s) the candidate would like to teach and relevant background, CV, statement of teaching philosophy, and the names and contact information for two references who can provide letters of recommendation (at least one of which must address the candidate’s teaching ability). The deadline for the first consideration of applications is May 16, 2021; the position will remain open until filled.

Required Qualifications: Successful candidates will have a Ph.D. in Physics (or have completed all the requirements for their degree but the dissertation by August 2021) and exhibit the interest and ability in working closely with students on an individual basis.

Preferred Qualifications: Prior undergraduate teaching experience is preferred.
