FT Lecturer/ Senior Lecturer, Department of Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry, Yale University

 Position Summary

The Department of Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry (MB&B) (http://mbb.yale.edu/) at Yale University invites applications for a lecturer or senior lecturer with an appointment starting July 1, 2025. The initial appointment duration and rank of the offer to the successful applicant will be commensurate with experience (one to three years for lecturer, one to five years for senior lecturer).
MB&B seeks a new colleague who will join us in our efforts to expand and modernize undergraduate laboratory instruction, develop new research-based coursework, and mentor undergraduates among a diverse group of nascent scientists. The successful candidate is expected to be an interactive member of the department and to contribute to teaching excellence within a lively community. Instructional expectations span first-year undergraduates to early-stage doctoral candidates. An enthusiastic subgroup of MB&B faculty, appointed by the Chair, will be committed to working with and supporting the continued growth of the successful candidate. The primary initial responsibility will be the teaching of a novel 100-level laboratory class for first- and second-year students, designed to pair academically with introductory biochemistry, cell biology, and fundamental physics. The course series is titled "Introduction to Physics in Living Systems Laboratory." Over time, the successful candidate will assume responsibilities for existing laboratory instruction at the 200-400 level and develop new coursework with help from a creative and supportive instructional staff. MB&B is particularly well suited to applicants qualified to instruct in biochemistry with substantive backgrounds in one of the physical or engineering sciences.
The Department is committed to a search that encourages applications from a diverse set of candidates of the highest caliber with a wide range of backgrounds and experiences. Competitive salary commensurate with experience. Full benefits (health insurance, a retirement plan, etc.) are included (see https://your.yale.edu/work-yale/benefits/my-benefits-job-classification).
