The Department of Physics at Central Michigan University invites applications for the Early Career Astronomy-Physics Lectureship. The ECAP Lectureship is aimed at developing excellent new teachers of Physics or Astronomy by providing teaching experience and professional development opportunities in a supportive environment where quality instruction is valued. Pending final funding approval, this is a one-year appointment beginning in January, 2012, with the possibility of appointment for a second year. Candidates must have a strong interest in teaching introductory astronomy, as well as physics and/or physical science. A Ph.D. or ABD-status in physics, astronomy or a closely related field is required as well as effective written and verbal communication skills.
