TT at Elmhurst College

The Elmhurst College Department of Physics invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning in Fall 2012. Candidates with a Ph.D. in any experimental area will be considered. Post-doctoral experience is desired, but not essential. Excellence in the classroom is a primary requirement of the faculty; intellectual vigor, enthusiasm for "hands-on" experimental activities, and a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching are essential. Preference will be given to candidates who can also initiate an active research program of experimental physics that strongly emphasizes the involvement of undergraduates. Applicants whose research is primarily computational are also invited to apply if they can ensure significant undergraduate participation in their research program.
