VAP at Carroll

Description: Visiting Instructional Staff Position; Starting Date: January 9, 2012; Ending Date: May 31, 2012

Qualifications: Masters or higher in physics or engineering. Preference will be given to candidates with a documented record of excellence in teaching.

Responsibilities: This is a one-semester fulltime hire, where the teaching load will be 16 contact hours in our first-semester algebra-based physics course (PHY101/PHY101L). The successful candidate will most likely teach three 1 hour lectures of algebra based physics 4 times a week as well as two 2 hour labs a week. The candidate will also be expected to assist in the coordination of the four lecture sections and thirteen lab sections for the course, as well as provide extra office hours to assist with handling student questions.


Rank and Salary: Commensurate with qualifications.
