The Department of Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Physics in the College of Natural and Health Sciences at The University of Tampa invites applications for the tenure-track position as Assistant Professor of Physics starting in August 2012.
Candidates must be dedicated to undergraduate teaching, including both science and non-science majors, and is able to conduct research that is appropriate for undergraduate participation. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate excellence in undergraduate education, take an active role in the curricular development of the Physics program at The University, involve undergraduate students in research as part of the experiential learning mission of The University, and provide service to the department, the college, and The University community.
Ph.D. in Physics or closely related field is required. Postdoctoral experience, including a publication record in peer-reviewed journals, is preferred. Prior teaching and research experience with undergraduates is highly desirable.
