The Department of Secondary Education at Kutztown University invites
applications for a tenure-track, full-time position beginning in August
2013.
Requirements: a Doctorate in an appropriate subject area
(preferably science education), a teaching certificate in any of the
secondary school science disciplines, and teaching experience in U.S.
schools with a minimum of five years of classroom teaching experience
in a middle school or high school setting.
Teaching responsibilities may
include Methods of Teaching Science in Secondary Schools,
Supervision of Science Student Teachers, Classroom Management for the
Inclusive Classroom, Effective Secondary Education Seminar, Methods of
Research, Data Driven Decision Making, and Change in Education. A focus
on teaching diverse populations, knowledge of the Common Core, and
awareness of a variety of teaching strategies for student success are
required. The candidate should demonstrate a clear understanding of
contemporary education issues. Selection will be based on excellence in
scholarship, superior teaching skills, and a successful interview.
