1-year Instructor at Loyola Chicago

Duties and Responsibilities: Loyola University Chicago (LUC), College of Arts and Sciences, Department of Physics, invites candidates for a one-year, non-renewable appointment for a full-time, non-tenure-track position at the rank of Instructor, beginning Academic Year 2014-2015. The department serves more than 120 majors and minors and has concentrations in the areas of physics, biophysics, theoretical physics, dual-degree engineering, and education. Teaching responsibilities for the academic year shall include lecture- and laboratory-based courses as well as a section of Freshman Projects, which is a one-credit-hour research course. The teaching load is the equivalent of that of a full-time instructor in physics.

Minimum Qualifications: Candidates must have a graduate degree in physics or a related field, and have substantial experience in teaching introductory physics to pre-health students. Candidates for the position must have a record of distinguished teaching and must clearly demonstrate the potential for continued excellence in teaching.
