Director of Instructional Labs, Georgetown University

The Department of Physics at Georgetown University invites applications for a Director of  Instructional Laboratories beginning in Fall 2014. The initial appointment is for one year, with the possibility of multi-year renewals.

The Director of  Instructional Laboratories is responsible for developing and maintaining lecture demonstrations and working with faculty to effectively integrate demonstrations into courses. The Director will also be responsible for instructional laboratory equipment, managing laboratory sections, and training teaching assistants for the introductory courses, as well as serving as a laboratory instructor as needed. Candidates must have a Bachelors degree in physics or closely related field, but an advanced degree is preferred.  Prior teaching experience and evidence of strong laboratory skills are desirable.
