Aquinas College invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor of Physics position starting August 2015.
Our faculty members are responsible for delivering quality, student-centered, hands-on, active instruction in order to prepare our students for success. We are looking for a dynamic, caring professional dedicated to teaching excellence and professional scholarship, who is committed to make a difference in peoples' lives.
Teaching load is 12 hours per semester. Related responsibilities include: maintaining office hours, advising students, and participating in departmental and college-wide activities including developing classes.
Applicants must have Ph.D. in physics, astronomy, or closely-related field by the time of appointment.
We seek an individual who exhibits a strong commitment to teaching physics lectures and laboratories for science and non-science students. Responsibilities include support of biology, chemistry, and mathematics programs, management of the Baldwin Observatory with 16-inch telescope, and participation in research involving undergraduates. Contributions to the ongoing advancement of the sciences at Aquinas will be expected.
