Two postdocs at Kansas State University

Kansas State University Physics Education Group (K-SUPER) seeks one or two Post-Doctoral Research Associates

The Physics Department at Kansas State University seeks qualified individuals to serve as post-doctoral positions with the KSU Physics Education Research Group.  These positions have a preferred starting date of January 2015. The research areas in which the post-docs will be involved are:
* problem solving using the methods of visual cognition research;
* how students come to think like physicists, including how students learn to use mathematics in physics contexts;
* physics faculty development, especially around issues of assessment in physics courses and degree programs.

For one of the positions the candidate will also spend one-half of the time teaching introductory physics courses in the Studio format.  For the second position some teaching will be available.
The initial appointments are for one year appointment and can be extended for one additional year upon satisfactory performance in both research and teaching.

The successful candidates are expected to have Ph.Ds. in physics with a dissertation or equivalent experience in physics education or doctoral degrees in science education with an M.S. in physics. The doctoral degree must be completed by the date of appointment.
