Job Duties
Teach graduate and undergraduate courses in science education; Recruit and mentor graduate students; Continue a program of well- established and focused research and related publications; Continue participation in externally funded projects; Provide service and leadership to the program area, department, college, university, and professional organizations; Participate in outreach and engagement; Collaborate with faculty within the college and across the university.
Minimum Requirements
Doctorate in science education or equivalent; earned rank of associate or full professor; well- established and sustained record of scholarship and external funding; established record for exemplary teaching and advising; record of leadership in Science Education with national and international visibility; experience with teacher education and outreach; minimum of three years teaching experience in middle or high school.

The Department of STEM Education has approximately 375 undergraduates and more than 115 graduate students in masters and doctoral programs. Faculty in STEM Ed currently direct approximately $15 million in sponsored projects. STEM Ed is one of four departments in the College of Education and has close ties with other units in mathematics, engineering, computer science and science.
