TT at The College of the Bahamas

Established in 1974, The College of The Bahamas is the national higher education institution of The Commonwealth of The Bahamas. With an enrolment of 5000 students, the College offers master, bachelor and associate degrees. 

The Physics Department is seeking a faculty member who has a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and research; the ability to teach undergraduate physics and astronomy courses to science and non-science majors; and who has a research specialty in one of the following areas: atmospheric and environmental physics; condensed matter physics; computational physics; astrophysics; physics education; or alternative sources of energy. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Teaching all levels of physics courses up to the bachelor degree level;
  • Participating in curriculum review, revision and design;
  • Participating in student advisement and departmental projects;
  • Contributing to the development of teaching materials;
  • Engaging in research and scholarly activities;
  • Serving on departmental, School and college-wide committees.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • An earned PhD in Physics from an accredited institution;
  • Excellent tertiary-level teaching experience;
  • Evidence of research and scholarship.
