FT Renewable Lecturer at Wellesley College MA

The Department of Physics invites applications for a Lecturer position (two-year initial appointment, renewable) beginning in September 2015. Wellesley is a private liberal arts college for women (2300 students) with a long tradition of providing high-quality scientific training. We offer a dynamic and challenging undergraduate physics major; many of our students go on to top graduate programs in a variety of disciplines. We seek candidates with a record of excellence in teaching and a strong commitment to undergraduate education. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of the pedagogical developments in our field. They will be well-positioned to contribute to teaching innovations in our introductory sequences, particularly in the area of integrated lecture-laboratory formats. Lecturers teach two courses per semester and have the opportunity to teach across the physics curriculum. They are expected to mentor students on independent projects and contribute to department service. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in physics or closely related field.
