Position Summary Information


The Department of Physics of North Dakota State University is seeking an Assistant Professor of Practice in Physics beginning August 16, 2015. The appointment is initially for three years and is renewable thereafter,
typically for 3-year periods. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching two large enrollment service courses per semester.
Participation in outreach activities and providing effective committee service is expected. Although not being required to establish a research program, the position encourages the implementation of research-based teaching methods. The successful candidate is expected to serve as academic advisor for undergraduate Physics majors.

PhD in physics. Demonstrated ability to teach large-enrollment
introductory service courses. Effective oral and written communication skills. Willingness to explore and implement modern research-based pedagogical methods.

College teaching experience, especially of large enrollment service courses. Academic committee experience. Experience with outreach activities. Experience with modern research-based education methods.
