TT at Williams College, MA

The Physics Department invites applications for an Assistant Professor position, with teaching duties starting September 2016.  A more senior appointment may be possible in exceptional circumstances.  We seek an energetic individual eager to teach throughout the undergraduate curriculum and to involve undergraduates in research, in any physics subfield.   Startup funds will be available.  The college enrolls a broadly diverse student population, so we are especially interested in candidates from underrepresented groups and in individuals who can effectively teach and mentor students from a wide variety of ethnic and cultural backgrounds.  Women and minority candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.

Information about the Physics Department, including research interests of current faculty and postgraduate plans of recent majors, can be found at physics.williams.edu.  Applications should be submitted via Interfolio (http://apply.interfolio.com/30430) and should include a c.v., a research statement that details plans for undergraduate involvement, a statement of teaching interests, and at least three letters of reference.  Applications completed by November 2nd will receive full consideration. All offers of employment are contingent upon completion of a background check. Further information is available here:  http://faculty.williams.edu/prospective-faculty/background-check-policy/
