VAP at Hampden-Sydney College

The Department of Physics and Astronomy has an opening for a one-year sabbatical replacement at the level of Visiting Assistant Professor, beginning August 2010. This position has the possibility of renewal for a second year. We are seeking an energetic physicist or astronomer with a strong commitment to teaching at the undergraduate level.

The department currently has five full-time faculty members, whose research interests include high energy astrophysics, AMO physics, condensed matter physics, and acoustics. Hampden-Sydney College is a selective four-year liberal arts college for men enrolling 1100 students on a beautiful 1330-acre campus in Virginia, 60 miles southwest of Richmond.
