About the Department
Welcome to the Department of Physical Sciences at Perimeter College, where students explore the complex and fascinating worlds of chemistry, physics and other science streams.

Members of our faculty partner with faculty in other science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields to bring STEM initiatives to our students.

Position Description
The Department of Physical Sciences invites applications for a non-tenure track Lecturer position in physics and astronomy.

The selected candidate will be responsible for:
Providing 36 semester hours of instruction (lecture and laboratory) per academic year
Providing student support and advising
Maintaining an average of 10 office hours per week
Working effectively and professionally with colleagues
Required Experience
Prior physics and astronomy teaching experience at the collegiate level.

Required Education
A minimum of a Master’s degree is required in Physics and/or Astronomy or a minimum of a Master’s degree with at least 18 semester or 27 quarter graduate hours in relevant coursework (completed by the anticipated date of appointment) is required.

Preferred Qualifications/Experience
Prior online physics and astronomy teaching experience desired.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to teach a variety of Physics/Astronomy courses, including laboratories at the college level
Ability to teach effectively using a variety of methods
Ability to relate to a diverse student population and facilitate student learning
Effective oral and written communication skills
Demonstrated knowledge of instructional technology
Licenses, Certifications, or Registrations, etc

Work Hours
Position may require non-standard hours (including day, evening, online, hybrid, weekend and/or other campus locations).

Salary Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience ($46,350 - $56,500).
