Overview:
The Department of Physics at NYIT invites applications for a one-year Visiting position at the rank of Assistant Professor to start on September 1, 2019. The candidate must have received a PhD in any branch of Physics/Applied Physics before joining date. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.

Responsibilities:
Candidate is required to teach 21 credit hours for the academic year. Courses assigned includes all Astronomy, College Physics, General Physics, and other advanced courses in candidate's area of specialization. Additional responsibilities include curriculum development.
Projected starting date is Fall 2019 with primary teaching responsibilities at the Long Island (Old Westbury) campus.
Qualifications:
  • A doctoral degree in Physics/Applied Physics is required.
  • Candidate must demonstrate excellent teaching and preferably have prior teaching experience at a university employing pedagogical strategies. 
  • Preference will be given to those candidates with a record of scholarly activities.
