The Department of Chemistry, Biochemistry, Physics, & Astronomy invites applications for the position of Visiting Lecturer to teach undergraduate Physics beginning Fall 2019. We seek applicants who are knowledgeable in the implementation and effective use of evidence-based, active learning teaching strategies, and are well-versed in the literature of physics education research. Demonstrable effectiveness in teaching at the undergraduate level and a commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment are essential. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational and interpersonal skills, and a willingness to work in collaboration with faculty, staff, and students. We expect our instructors to take a scholarly approach to their teaching as they assess the impact of innovations introduced to their classes. While research and publication are not an expectation for this position, it is highly encouraged.
Requirements:
Qualifications: Master's degree in Physics and prior successful Physics teaching experience
Desired Qualifications: Ph.D. in Physics or closely related field. Prior successful teaching experience at the collegiate level.
This is a full-time position for one year.
