Learning Assistant Program Coordinator, Rochester Institute of Technology, NY

 Learning Assistant Program Coordinator position

RIT's Center for the Advancing Scholarship to Transform Learning (CASTLE) is seeking applicants for a Learning Assistant Program Coordinator to begin July 1, 2023 or sooner. Learning Assistants (Las) are undergraduate students that work collaboratively with faculty to develop and implement activity-based pedagogies that center on small-group discussions. This is a unique opportunity for the applicant to build on existing interests in undergraduate education while developing key skills in program management.

The LA Program Coordinator will oversee all program aspects, including recruitment of students and faculty, working with current faculty/student pairings to develop, refine and assess pedagogical innovations, and teaching sections of the LA pedagogy course required of all new student LAs. The Program Coordinator will be assisted by CASTLE and College of Science staff and work under the direct supervision of CASTLE Director Scott Franklin.

Additional growth opportunities for the successful candidate include integration into Center programs to increase retention and foster an inclusive, equitable and socially just culture.

Questions about the program or position can be directed to Scott Franklin at svfsps@rit.edu. More information and application instructions can be found at  https://sjobs.brassring.com/TGnewUI/Search/Home/Home?partnerid=25483&siteid=5289#jobDetails=1559994_5289
