Lecturer at UC Berkleley

Education. The Graduate School of Education, University of California, Berkeley is seeking a full-time lecturer to teach courses and work with graduate students enrolled in programs that focus on science and mathematics teaching and learning, including: Education in Mathematics, Science and Technology (EMST) and the Graduate Group in Science and Mathematics Education (SESAME). The programs are strongly interdisciplinary, with an emphasis on the educational applications of cognitive science and computers. Qualifications. Candidates should have a doctoral degree, post-secondary teaching experience, background and interests in research, and applied interests in instructional improvement. Candidates should have the ability to contribute to teacher education programs relevant to their area of expertise. Preferred areas of expertise desirable for the position include technology, cognitive development, and science/mathematics education; ability to bridge research and practice; and an interest in issues related to classroom teaching and learning. The initial appointment will be for the 2009-2010 academic year, full-time, beginning July 2009, with the possibility of two annual renewals for a total three-year appointment. The starting salary ranges from $52,801-$56,861.
