VAP at Tennessee Tech

A temporary one year (9-month), full-time appointment to begin August 1, 2009. There is a possibility this appointment may be renewed for up to two additional years.

QUALIFICATIONS: A Ph.D. degree in Physics, or equivalent. Postdoctoral experience is preferred. Candidates must have a potential for excellence in teaching undergraduate physics, especially introductory courses, with a commitment to evidence-based teaching that complements the departments mission and interests. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in an experimental field who have the capability to supervise introductory and advance laboratory classes.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Instruction in the undergraduate physics curriculum, with emphasis on the introductory courses. Demonstration of collegiality and cooperation within the Department, College and University. Involvement in professional and community service is desirable.

SALARY: Commensurate with education and experience.
