Two TT at Eastern Kentucky University

The Department of Physics and Astronomy at Eastern Kentucky University invites applications for two tenure-track faculty positions at the rank of assistant professor beginning August 17, 2009. A Ph.D. in Physics, Astronomy or a related field is required from an accredited or internationally recognized institution by the start date. Preference will be given to experimentalists, astronomers/astrophysicists or PER (Physics Education Research) specialists. Successful candidates are expected to conduct research with undergraduates. Candidates must show promise of quality teaching at all undergraduate levels, and be capable of teaching courses in general-education physics and astronomy, pre-engineering, and upper-level physics for majors to students with highly diverse backgrounds. Current departmental research interests are in experimental atomic physics, observational astronomy and physics education research.
